She was traveling with her two sons, Karan Nishad, aged 18, and Arjun Nishad, aged 15, on a motorcycle when the attack occurred. The family had just completed a visit to a local healthcare facility in Mihipurwa and was on their way back to their village in Lakhimpur Kheri district.
The attack happened suddenly when the family was riding near the Baba Motey Temple, where the elephant emerged from the forest and charged at their motorcycle. The impact caused the bike to lose balance and fall, leading to the horrific event in which Munni Devi was crushed by the elephant.
