Delhi: Thieves broke the shutter, rummaged through showcases, and stole jewelry worth crores
A jewelry showroom in RK Puram, Delhi, was robbed of jewelry worth crores by five thieves in the early hours of February 14.
In a brazen heist, five cunning thieves targeted a jewelry showroom located in the upscale Sector-6 market of RK Puram, Delhi, stealing valuables worth crores of rupees on the night of February 13-14. The incident occurred around 2:10 AM and was captured on CCTV cameras, which revealed the intricate planning and execution of the crime. After attempting to disable the external security camera, the assailants broke the outer shutter and cut through the inner shutter to gain access to the showroom.
CCTV footage shows the thieves entering the showroom and immediately beginning their search for valuable items. While three of them combed through the showcases and display counters for jewelry, two others stood guard at the entrance, ensuring that they werenโt interrupted. The thieves spent nearly half an hour inside the showroom, collecting boxes of jewelry from both the upper and lower displays before escaping with their stolen loot around 2:44 AM. The police are currently investigating the incident and are on the lookout for the culprits, who have since gone into hiding.
This incident highlights concerns regarding security in high-profile shopping areas in Delhi, particularly for high-value establishments like jewelry stores that are often targeted by organized crime.
