ELECTRIC CLOCK ⟩ The electricity market price will see a sharp increase on Sunday

On Sunday, the average electricity price in Estonia's Nord Pool market will rise sharply by 31.1% to €156.95 per megawatt-hour.

On Sunday, the average electricity price in the Nord Pool electricity market for Estonia is set to increase significantly by 31.1%, reaching €156.95 per megawatt-hour. The peak price is expected to occur at 16:45-17:00, where the price per megawatt-hour will soar to €325.04, indicating a substantial demand for electricity during that time. In contrast, the cheapest electricity was recorded in the early morning between 7:00 and 7:15, although even then, the price remained high at €99.07.

Throughout the day, electricity prices are projected to remain high, with levels exceeding €100 per megawatt-hour almost continuously. This dramatic increase in prices highlights the fluctuations in the energy market, influenced by supply and demand dynamics. For reference, the average price on Saturday was significantly lower at €119.69, suggesting a notable spike in the following day’s pricing.

Additionally, the situation is mirrored in Latvia and Lithuania, where electricity prices on Sunday are expected to align with those in Estonia. However, consumers in Finland will benefit from a significantly lower average price of €95.44 per megawatt-hour, showcasing the varying electricity market conditions across the region. This disparity raises questions about the underlying factors contributing to such regional price differences and the overall impact on consumers in the Baltic states compared to Finland.
