Israeli airstrikes on several areas in southern Lebanon
Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes on southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah's infrastructure according to the Israeli military.
On Sunday, Israeli warplanes launched multiple airstrikes on various locations in southern Lebanon, as per a statement by the Israeli military indicating the strikes were aimed at Hezbollah's infrastructure. The reported targets included the heights of 'Jebel al-Rihane', the 'Tuffah' region, and the vicinity of 'Wadi Barghoz' and the town of Bslaya. Lebanese news agency reports also highlighted airstrikes that took place in the vicinity of the town of Houmine al-Fouqa.
In addition to the airstrikes, it was noted that an Israeli drone dropped explosives in an unoccupied house in the 'Kassayer' neighborhood east of the town of Mays al-Jabal. The Israeli military later issued a statement claiming the attacks were directed towards arms depots and rocket launching sites belonging to Hezbollah in several regions of southern Lebanon. They asserted that the presence of these weapons breached ceasefire agreements between Israel and Lebanon.
These developments reflect a significant escalation in tensions along the southern Lebanese border, amidst ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreements by Israel. The situation has wider implications for regional stability, particularly considering the longstanding conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which could further destabilize the already fragile security situation in the region.
