Renault Captur Eco-G 120: LPG returns to the game with more power and a range of 1400 km

Renault introduces the new Eco-G 120 engine for its Captur model, featuring a factory LPG installation and enhanced performance.

Due to rising costs and regulatory pressure, manufacturers are revisiting technologies that once seemed fleeting. Renault is strengthening its offer in the B-SUV segment by launching the Captur with the new Eco-G 120 unit that includes a factory LPG installation. This move is notably justified from both the manufacturer's perspective and for fleet and individual customers, emphasizing the practicality and sustainability of using LPG fuel.

The Eco-G 120 engine replaces the previous Eco-G 100 version and is based on a 1.2 TCe three-cylinder turbocharged engine, producing 120 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. This enhancement of 20 horsepower and 30 Nm translates into improved dynamics, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 12 seconds. With lower emissions, the LPG mode produces COâ‚‚ emissions from 117 g/km, roughly 10% less than its gasoline counterpart, at 133 g/km, making it more environmentally friendly as emissions regulations tighten.

Fuel consumption figures stated by the manufacturer are quite favorable, with LPG usage at 7.2 liters per 100 km and gasoline at 5.9 liters per 100 km. As the market shifts towards more efficient and lower-emission vehicles, Renault's new offering positions itself well against increasingly strict norms, catering to both economic and ecological considerations in the automotive sector.
