Sultanes Women and El Águila de Veracruz Engage in Social Work at the Rehabilitation and Inclusion Center
Sultanes Women and El Águila de Veracruz collaborated on a social initiative at the Rehabilitation and Social Inclusion Center in Veracruz.
In an uplifting display of sportsmanship, the Sultanes Women’s team and El Águila de Veracruz came together to contribute to social welfare at the Rehabilitation and Social Inclusion Center of Veracruz (CRIVER). This partnership goes beyond the competitive dynamic typically associated with sports, highlighting the positive impact of collaboration for a noble cause. The event featured players from both teams, including Monterrey's Suka Van Gurp and Payton Gottshall, as well as El Águila's Yamilet Lozano and Laura Cortés, demonstrating unity and community spirit.
The initiative was spearheaded by Jessica Tamez, the director of social responsibility at Club Sultanes, who emphasized that the rivalry between the teams ends on the field, where they can collectively work to change lives. The presence of the teams' mascots, El Perro Sultán, Pachi, and Gloria, further enhanced the occasion by entertaining the children and young individuals at CRIVER, reinforcing the message of support and joy over competitive tension. The event took place at 11:00 AM, marking a significant moment of community engagement.
CRIVER plays a vital role as a civil association committed to providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to children and youth with disabilities. By participating in this social initiative, the teams not only brought joy to the attendees at CRIVER but also raised awareness about the importance of supporting those with disabilities. Such initiatives illustrate how sports can serve as a platform for greater social responsibility and community involvement, reinforcing the notion that athletes and sports organizations can make meaningful contributions beyond the realm of competition.
