A fire in a Campo Grande apartment caused partial destruction, with no reported injuries after the residents were safely evacuated.
On Saturday morning, a fire broke out in a bedroom of an apartment located in the Santa FΓ© neighborhood of Campo Grande, Brazil. Initial reports from the Fire Department of Mato Grosso do Sul suggest that the fire may have been caused by an electrical appliance connected to the power outlet, although the specific device has not yet been identified. Fortunately, when firefighters arrived, they were able to rescue a 26-year-old resident from the third floor and a 17-year-old girl from the second floor without any injuries reported.
Approximately 10 firefighters responded to the situation, utilizing around 2,000 liters of water to combat the flames. The bedroom where the fire originated was completely destroyed, while other parts of the apartment experienced partial damage. Thankfully, the fire was contained and did not spread to neighboring apartments within the three-story building, preventing a larger disaster from occurring.
Lieutenant Christopher VinΓcius from the Fire Department highlighted the importance of safety measures and vigilance regarding electrical appliances to the community. This incident serves as a crucial reminder for residents to ensure that devices plugged into outlets are functioning properly and do not pose a fire hazard, thus raising awareness about fire safety in residential areas of Campo Grande.
