Navy rescues 4 people trapped in a vessel in Quintana Roo
The Mexican Navy successfully rescued four individuals stranded on a boat that lost propulsion in Quintana Roo.
The Mexican Navy conducted a successful rescue operation in Quintana Roo, where four individuals were stranded on a vessel named NISBRISSA. The group, comprising two men and two women from the National Forestry Commission (Conafor), were performing maintenance work on trails at the Calderas and Parlovenio area, approximately 17 nautical miles northwest of Chetumal. When the boat experienced a propulsion failure, they called for help to be rescued promptly.
Responding to a distress call, the Chetumal Naval Search, Rescue, and Maritime Surveillance Station (ENSAR) deployed a specialized team and a Defender-type unit. Upon arrival, the naval personnel located the four crew members in good health and safely transported them back to shore. The rescue was completed without any additional incidents, demonstrating the Navy's preparedness and efficiency in handling such emergencies at sea.
This incident highlights the importance of having robust emergency response protocols in place for maritime incidents, especially in areas where individuals engage in activities that may lead to unforeseen circumstances, such as the maintenance work conducted by Conafor personnel. Such operations not only emphasize the Navy's role in ensuring safety at sea but also reflect on the cooperative efforts between various agencies in safeguarding the environment and responding to emergencies.
