Norwegian biathlete Maren Kirkeeide won the gold medal in the women's sprint event at the Winter Olympics in Antholz, while Croatian athlete Anika Kožica finished in 68th place despite hitting all her targets.

At the Winter Olympics in Antholz, Norwegian athlete Maren Kirkeeide secured the gold medal in the women's biathlon sprint over 7.5 kilometers, demonstrating outstanding performance by hitting all ten targets. She completed the final lap swiftly, finishing 3.8 seconds ahead of her closest competitor, French athlete Oceane Michelon, who took the silver medal. The bronze medal went to another French athlete, Lou Jeanmonnot, who recorded one missed target during her race.

Croatian representative Anika Kožica also succeeded in hitting all ten targets during her race but finished in 68th position with a time of 3:09.8 minutes behind Kirkeeide. This time did not qualify her for the subsequent heats, ultimately marking the end of her participation in this event at the Games. Despite her precision in shooting, the significant gap in time prevented her from breaking into the top 60 needed for further advancement.

This competition highlights the intense international competition in biathlon at the Winter Olympics, showcasing the high level of skill among the participants. Kirkeeide's victory adds to Norway's illustrious history in the sport, while Kožica's performance, though disappointing in terms of ranking, demonstrates the determination and talent of Croatian athletes on the world stage.
