Duo arrested with 90 ecstasy pills in Parque Anauá, Boa Vista

Two men were arrested for drug trafficking in Boa Vista after police found 90 ecstasy pills in their vehicle.

On Friday afternoon, two men, aged 23 and 30, were caught in the act of drug trafficking in Parque Anauá, Boa Vista, after the military police discovered approximately 90 ecstasy pills during their intervention. The police became suspicious of a silver car that made a sudden stop and tried to reverse upon seeing the approaching police vehicle.

Upon questioning, the younger man claimed to have purchased the drugs from a truck driver near the Feira do Produtor in the Pricumã neighborhood, while the driver insisted he was merely giving his friend a lift. During a search of the car, authorities also confiscated two mobile phones, the car used in the alleged drug transaction, wallets with identification documents, keys, and personal belongings belonging to the suspects.

This incident highlights ongoing issues of drug trafficking and enforcement in Brazil, where law enforcement agencies are continually battling the illegal drug trade in urban areas. The quick response by the military police not only disrupted this particular transaction but serves as a reminder of the ever-present challenges posed by drug-related crime in the region.
