They were seeded third in the tournament but lost to the fourth-seeded pair, Anna Danilina from Kazakhstan and Aleksandra Krunic from Serbia, with a match score of 6-0, 6-7 (3-7), 8-10. Ostapenko and Sje entered the tournament directly into the second round where they triumphed over the Slovenian duo Andreja Klepac and Polish player Katarzyna Piter with a score of 6-3, 6-3.
