As the Carnival festivities approach, the Military Police of Pará has issued a series of safety guidelines for participants in Santarém and the nearby district of Alter do Chão. In addition to enhanced policing, party-goers will be subject to personal security checks at event entrances. The police emphasize the importance of being cautious with personal belongings, particularly in crowded areas. It is advised to avoid using mobile phones for calls or filming in large crowds. Instead, attendees are encouraged to use pouches, ideally worn under clothing, to safeguard their valuables like documents, money, and electronic devices.
