Antoni Miralda, an artist from Terrassa, Spain, is currently celebrating the 40th anniversary of his ambitious Honeymoon Project, which involved a symbolic wedding between the Statue of Liberty and a statue of Columbus. As part of the commemoration, he launched the first volume of a five-part collection titled Honeymoon Updates, with the inaugural book being Monuments in Love / Cartas de Amor. This project, which originally spanned from 1986 to 1992 and involved various installations across numerous cities, has gained renewed attention thanks to this retrospective look through published works and exhibitions.

The launch event took place at Sala Apolo and is set to coincide with an upcoming exhibition at the Arco fair in Madrid, where Miralda's work will showcase elements of this artistic marriage, including a piece known as Eternity Ring. At the age of 84, Miralda shares that he is busier than ever, reflecting a vibrant creative energy that has not waned over the decades. His unique perspective on the United States reflects both admiration and critique, emphasizing the complexities of the country as he acknowledges its faults amidst its grandeur.
