The world's largest carnival block, Galo da Madrugada, takes to the streets of Recife with numerous attractions and an environmental theme.
The Galo da Madrugada, recognized as the largest carnival block in the world, set to take place in Recife on Saturday, features an environmental theme titled 'Frevo no Planeta Galo'. The festivities are scheduled to begin at 9 AM from the historic Forte das Cinco Pontas, with live coverage provided by g1 starting at 8:30 AM. This year’s parade is expected to attract an impressive crowd of approximately 2.5 million attendees, eager to participate in a vibrant celebration.
The event will showcase six float cars and 30 electric trios, headlined by renowned artists such as Elba Ramalho, Chico César, and Raphaela Santos, along with other special guests. The parade celebrates not only the joyful spirit of carnival but also pays homage to the acclaimed musician Marcelo Melo, founder of the Quinteto Violado, who will lead the procession in the grand opening car. By emphasizing a strong message concerning environmental awareness, the event aims to engage both participants and spectators in a cause that resonates with many.
Organizers highlight the inclusive nature of the carnival, allowing participation from 300 specially invited carnival-goers.
