He stated that over the past eight years, he has developed significantly, which has enhanced his enjoyment of the performances. He disclosed plans to compete in the upcoming World Championships and indicated a dedication to continuing his career, suggesting that he has not made a definitive decision about participating in a potential fourth Olympics.

As he stands at this crossroads, Vasiļjevs noted he doesn't feel ready to conclude his athletic journey, stating, "I don’t feel like I need to close the book."
