Carnaval, one of the most festive times in Brazil, will commence in Goiás on Saturday, February 14, and continue until Tuesday, February 17. During this period, the operating hours for public services, some commercial outlets, and private establishments in Goiânia and the surrounding Metropolitan Region will experience changes, although essential services will remain operational. It is crucial for the population to be aware of the special hours of service due to the public holidays and non-working days declared during the event.

The Goiás Government announced that Monday, February 16, will be a non-working day, while Tuesday, February 17, is an official holiday. On Wednesday, February 18, government services will resume with reduced hours, starting at 2 PM. Essential services such as healthcare units, civil and military police, fire department, revenue collection, and inspections will operate as usual, ensuring that critical support remains available to the public during the festive period.

Cultural spaces in the capital, including the State Historical Archive, Vila Cultural Cora Coralina, Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), State Library Pio Vargas, Goiânia Theater, and Octo Marques Cultural Center, will close on February 16 and 17, reopening on Wednesday, February 18, at 2 PM. Additionally, Cine Cultura will be closed from February 14 to 17, further impacting the local cultural scene.
