Hiago Martins Pinheiro, aged 25, was killed on Thursday night in Curitiba after a confrontation related to a $5 arcade token at a bar on Rua São Francisco. Reports indicate that he had purchased the token but it failed to work, prompting him to complain to the establishment. This led to his group being ejected from the bar and subsequently having the argument escalate into violence as they moved outside.

According to Civil Police delegate Magda Hofstaetter, witnesses described how a man exited the bar and stabbed Hiago once in the chest, causing his immediate death at the scene.
