Driver recognized as violator: "The police misled me"

A driver involved in an accident with an ambulance in Klaipėda claims he was misled by police after receiving a fine for traffic violations.

On February 16 of last year, an accident occurred at the intersection of Taikos Prospektas and Kauno & Agluonos streets in Klaipėda, where a 'Mitsubishi Outlander' failed to yield to an ambulance marked with lights and sirens. While there were no injuries, the crash resulted in significant damage to both vehicles; the ambulance collided with a lighting pole, and the Mitsubishi hit a traffic light and road sign. After the accident, Klaipėda police determined that the driver of the Mitsubishi acted recklessly, citing violations of traffic regulations, and issued a 45 euro fine in June of the following year.
