The Football Association and the operator Swan got involved in a bizarre dispute over phones. Huliak is using it against Kováčik.
A dispute has arisen between the Slovak Football Association and mobile operator Swan over unpaid invoices for a large order of iPhones, with accusations from each side about the nature of the transaction.
The Slovak Football Association (SFZ) is entangled in an unusual dispute with the mobile operator Swan regarding an alleged order of 14,000 Apple iPhones. Swan claims that they have not been paid for the phones by the intermediary company Best Press, which is accused of placing the order on behalf of the SFZ. Swan is now seeking payment directly from the SFZ, insisting that the association is liable for the unpaid invoices due to a claim made against the association's assets.
The mobile operator conveys that this order from 2024, totaling 14.4 million euros, was fulfilled when the phones were delivered to a warehouse in Bratislava, where both the SFZ and SFZ Marketing are located. According to Swan, the details indicating that the units were indeed meant for the Football Association are contained in documentation submitted during the delivery process. The SFZ, on the other hand, staunchly denies ordering these phones, asserting that it had procured different and less expensive models.
This conflict raises significant questions about contract management and accountability within sporting organizations, particularly regarding how they engage in business dealings with external partners. The outcome of this dispute could have financial implications for the SFZ and further complicate its relationship with Swan and other contractors in the future.
