A 42-year-old man was shot dead after his house was invaded in Coração de Maria, Bahia.

On Thursday night, a 42-year-old man named Gilson Souza Ferreira was fatally shot in his home in Coração de Maria, Bahia, located about 25 km from Feira de Santana. The incident occurred around 9 PM on Rua São José in the neighborhood known as Nova Esperança, specifically in an area referred to as Malvinas. Witnesses reported that two assailants arrived on a motorcycle, invaded Ferreira's home, and shot him while he was inside, subsequently fleeing the scene before the police arrived.

Local police, responding to reports of gunfire, discovered Ferreira's lifeless body on a sofa in his residence after residents alerted them. The 97th Independent Company of Police Militar (CIPM) confirmed that the suspects had not been apprehended and investigations are ongoing. The Department of Technical Police (DPT) was called in to conduct a forensic investigation at the scene and to handle the removal of the body, underscoring the seriousness of the crime in this community.
