Stolen files from Telia released online - sensitive information at risk
A hacker group has posted approximately half a million stolen files from Telia online, which include sensitive personal and corporate information.
A significant data breach has occurred at Telia, a telecommunications company, where around half a million files have been stolen and released by a hacker group. This breach includes sensitive personal information and has been confirmed by Telia's information officer Daniel Barhom, who stated that the breach was detected in late November 2025. The company has acknowledged that the hackers have obtained access to confidential data including personal IDs of some customers and internal company documents.
The hacker group claims to possess an extensive cache of 2.5 terabytes of personal information, encompassing customer data, financial documents, internal communications, contracts, and invoices related to Telia. Reports indicate that thousands of files, including image files, spreadsheets, and PDFs, are part of the leak, with some documents dated as recently as September 2025. This highlights significant vulnerabilities within Teliaโs information security measures and raises concerns about the potential ramifications of this substantial data leak.
In a response to the breach, Telia has expressed deep apologies and is taking steps to notify affected customers and employees. The incident not only poses a risk to the individuals whose data has been compromised but also threatens Telia's reputation and operational integrity as a trusted telecom provider. This breach could lead to a thorough investigation and potentially stricter regulations concerning data protection within corporate environments in Norway and beyond.
