Orav: The future of the large factory in Paide is definitely connected to Estonian milk
The CEO of E-Piim Tootmine, Anti Orav, stated that despite the company's recent bankruptcy filing, operations will continue until a future solution is found, emphasizing the factory's dependency on local Estonian milk.
E-Piim Tootmine's CEO, Anti Orav, has confirmed that despite the company's recent bankruptcy filing, operations will continue as they seek a resolution for the company's future. He highlighted that the large factory built in Paide is intrinsically linked to Estonian milk production, asserting that without local raw materials, the sustainability of the factory is compromised.
On Wednesday, company board member Janis Bertulsons filed for bankruptcy, citing that the company's financial condition no longer allowed it to meet its obligations normally. Orav has been working since December to find solutions to stabilize the company's precarious situation and to seek out non-bankruptcy solutions to their liquidity problems. However, he expressed that the realization of the company's potential has yet to be achieved, a situation that has been frequently discussed in the media.
The factory, which was opened a few years ago, was designed to process up to 1000 tons of milk daily, indicative of its capability and ambitions within the dairy sector. The future of this facility not only impacts the company but also poses wider implications for local dairy farmers and the Estonian dairy industry as a whole, especially considering the dependency on locally sourced raw materials for its operations to thrive.
