In a recent statement following the Municipality of Athens' achievement at the Best City Awards, Mayor Ch. Doukas highlighted the importance of addressing energy poverty in the city. He mentioned that energy poverty is a concrete concern for thousands of households in Athens and asserted that practical solutions can be provided through local government initiatives. Notably, the city’s Energy Poverty Management Office has successfully assisted over 240 households by exempting them from municipal fees and distributing LED bulbs to enhance energy efficiency.
