Does your child have this stuffed toy? Stop using it immediately

A recall has been issued for the children's toy brand Uni Toys due to a choking hazard linked to the plastic nose of dog plush toys.

Children's toy brand Uni Toys has been recalled in Finland due to a choking hazard. The Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) and the importer Vivantti informed the public that a defect was discovered during customs testing, revealing that the plastic nose of the plush dog toy could detach, posing a choking risk for small children. The recall specifically affects plush toys sold between April and December of last year, identifiable by the batch number LS2412, which can be found on a stitched label inside the product.

Currently, there have been no reported injuries related to these plush toys; however, the recall is being implemented as a precautionary measure. Consumers are instructed to keep these toys out of children’s reach and to return them to the importer. A total of 240 units of the defective stuffed animals were sold, and the recall is limited to this specific batch. The safety agency has emphasized that this recall concerns only the products associated with the mentioned batch number, ensuring that consumers can safely identify the affected toys.

To facilitate the return process, customers are encouraged to reach out to the Finnish importer, Vivantti Oy, located in Ylöjärvi. The company is prepared to assist customers in returning the product and processing refunds without requiring proof of purchase, such as receipts or invoices. The incident highlights the importance of vigilance in toy safety and consumer awareness to prevent potential hazards for young children.
