Trial of the CEO of Oushou Shooting Incident: Testimonies from Manufacturer Employees Regarding Related Vehicles

The trial for the shooting of Takayuki Daito, the CEO of Oushou Food Service, has included testimonies from manufacturer employees about vehicles connected to the incident.

The trial regarding the murder of Takayuki Daito, former CEO of Oushou Food Service in Japan, is currently ongoing at the Kyoto District Court, where Yoshio Tanaka, a member of a designated dangerous gang, is being charged with the murder. Daito was shot in front of the company headquarters on December 19, 2013, and the prosecution has presented evidence linking a light vehicle to the crime, stating that it was borrowed by the defendant from a childhood friend. At a recent court session, an employee from the manufacturer testified that the vehicle captured in surveillance footage matched the model of the defendant’s friend's car.

During the hearings, various testimonies have surfaced, including a previous session where the childhood friend of the defendant, responding to questions about the vehicle's identity, acknowledged that while there were no significant discrepancies between the cars, he didn't consider the car in question to be his. The trial is expected to continue with witness examinations up to the tenth session, with closing arguments scheduled for June 29 and a verdict expected to be delivered on October 16.
