The Estonian women's badminton team had to acknowledge the superiority of the favorite Denmark

The Estonian women's badminton team lost to Denmark 2-3 in their final group match at the European Championship.

The Estonian women's badminton team faced a tough match against the favored Danish team during their final group stage at the European Championships. The match concluded with a score of 2-3 in favor of Denmark, marking another loss for Estonia in the tournament. In the singles matches, Estonia’s Kristin Kuuba lost to Line Kjärsfeldt, currently ranked 18th in the world, and Helis Pajuste was defeated by Line Christophersen, ranked 26th. This performance further secured Denmark's place in the semifinals of the competition.

Despite the tough losses in singles, Estonia managed to achieve two victories in the subsequent doubles matches. Kuuba teamed up with Helina Rüütel to narrowly win against their Danish counterparts, and Kruus alongside Ramona Üprus also secured a win. However, these victories were not enough to salvage the overall outcome of the tournament, as Estonia ended the group stage with three losses.

The Estonian team struggled throughout the tournament, having previously lost to Germany and Ukraine in earlier matches, which illustrates the challenges faced by the team against stronger European badminton nations. The results highlight the gap that still exists in the competition level between Estonia and established badminton powers like Denmark, and calls for further development in the sport within Estonia.
