This Year the Viljandi Lights Visual Arts Festival Takes Place for the Fifth Time
The Viljandi Lights Visual Arts Festival is scheduled to take place from February 13 to 15, featuring light installations and a full program of events.
The Viljandi Lights Visual Arts Festival, now in its fifth year, will occur from February 13 to 15 in the Estonian town of Viljandi. The festival will kick off with an opening event at Viljandi Song Festival Grounds featuring music from DJs Karl Robert Saaremäe and Rait Õunapuu. Highlights include a fire show by Artistic Flow, a fire sculpture created by Kerli Kore, and a light installation called "Sulav syda" by artists Rene Liivamägi and Tõnis Koppel.
On February 14, the festival will host a Drink and Draw drawing session at Rüki Gallery, encouraging creative participation from attendees. The evening will see closing performances at the Conservatory, featuring the debut performance in Viljandi by Kitty Florentine, along with other musical events. This day emphasizes the communal and participatory spirit of the festival.
The final day of the festival, February 15, will continue to showcase light installations scattered throughout the city, which forms the visual heart of the festival. This year's event promises to enhance the cultural landscape of Viljandi, inviting visitors to engage with both the art and the community, making it a significant cultural event in Estonia.
