A group of enterprising Estonian students are making waves with their innovative products at a student entrepreneur fair, set to take place in Tallinn's Kristiine center this weekend. Over 450 student companies from Estonia and beyond are participating, showcasing their creativity and commitment to sustainability. Among the most notable innovations are products made from recycled materials, such as coffee grounds and discarded cutlery. One standout student company, Flammik from Pelgulinna State Gymnasium, is producing fire starters made from coffee grounds. Financial manager Ester Edro explains that they aim to repurpose the vast amount of coffee grounds that go unused. The eco-friendly fire starters not only utilize coffee waste but also integrate old paper, food oil, and soy wax, showcasing a blend of creativity and environmental responsibility. Another participant, Elora from Gustav Adolf Grammar School, is also focusing on recycling.
