Police in a joint operation conducted on Wednesday (11) between Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro discovered a large arsenal of firearms as part of an effort to dismantle an illegal arms possession scheme operating across the two states. The operation was initiated in Antônio Prado de Minas and was based on intelligence gathering that led units to a residence in the city's center. Upon conducting a search, authorities found a hidden compartment in a kitchen cabinet containing a .32 caliber revolver, various ammunition, gunpowder, and components for reloading ammunition.

The situation escalated when the 61-year-old owner of the property disclosed that he was storing additional weapons at another location in Porciúncula. This led police to expand their investigation, highlighting the breadth of illegal arms trafficking in the region.
