30 lawbreakers detained at the border in the past day
In the last 24 hours, Latvian border guards apprehended 30 lawbreakers, including several foreign nationals under various immigration violations.
In a recent operation, Latvia's border guards reported the apprehension of 30 individuals violating the country's immigration laws within a span of 24 hours. Out of these, 14 were caught at the external borders, while the remaining were intercepted within the country itself. Notably, border control points at Terehova and Riga International Airport identified three foreign nationals from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, who had breached the residency conditions set forth by Schengen zone regulations.
Additionally, two Indian and one Cameroonian citizen were denied entry at Riga Airport due to their inability to substantiate the reasons for their intended stay in Latvia. Concerns regarding security led to the refusal of entry for three Belarusian nationals, as well as one each from Ukraine, Moldova, and Canada. These individuals were subsequently returned to their countries of departure.
Inside Latvia, immigration checks uncovered violations by two individuals, one from Cuba and one from India. The border guard authorities also initiated administrative proceedings regarding violations related to the operation of vehicles and vessels, indicating ongoing enforcement activities aimed at maintaining border security and regulating immigration effectively.
