His death was announced by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs on the 13th, stating that he passed away on the 8th at the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre in Toronto, Canada due to old age. Lee was part of the military operations that saw the rapid advance of South Korean and U.S. forces following the successful Incheon Landing operation, which was critical in regaining control of Seoul.
