Farmers face challenging years: what decisions will help earn more?
Farmers in Lithuania are advised to rely on data and scientific methods to boost earnings amid challenging conditions predicted for the year.
Farmers in Lithuania are entering a challenging year, highlighted by a recent conference series organized by 'Agrokoncernas' focused on practical and scientifically backed solutions for productivity. Liveta Budreckytė, product group manager at 'Agrokoncernas,' emphasizes the importance of data-driven decisions rather than relying on intuition or habitual practices. This year's agricultural climate varies significantly, therefore, flexibility, backed by scientific research, is essential for success.
The conference series, titled 'Experiences. Tools. Goals – Closer to You,' will commence on February 18 and cover various regions of Lithuania, showcasing the latest findings and practical advice for farmers. The emphasis is on the importance of continuous research and adopting solutions that offer a competitive edge. 'In modern plant protection, there is no place for chance,' says Budreckytė, indicating that farmers must adapt to new findings and not rely solely on traditional methods.
Budreckytė further suggests that the current agro-climatic conditions require farmers to adjust their strategies based on long-term studies and scientific advancements. The insights from the AgroITC research team, which has been exploring diverse technologies and farming practices over the years, will be crucial as farmers aim to enhance their productivity while navigating the uncertainties of the agricultural sector this year.
