Prolagos, the water and sewage concessionaire, is ramping up its preparations to cater to the expected surge in tourist numbers during the Carnival season. With the region preparing for an influx, the company is prioritizing improvements and preventive actions to ensure service stability. Last year, the population in the five cities under Prolagos' concession reached approximately 1.6 million on New Year's Eve, highlighting the seasonal demand on local utilities.

To address this anticipated increase in service demand, Prolagos has allocated over R$ 3 million for upgrades, which include the acquisition of new generators and pumps necessary for the main operational units. Additionally, the company has enhanced its workforce, which will be actively monitoring the water pumping systems throughout the Carnival period. This proactive approach aims to maintain consistent service levels despite the increased pressure on the infrastructure due to high tourist influx.

Furthermore, Prolagos plans to bolster its alternative water supply methods by deploying a fleet of tank trucks that is three times larger than usual. This initiative reflects the company's commitment to ensuring that both residents and visitors have access to necessary resources during the festive season, thereby avoiding disruptions that can arise from the high demand associated with Carnival celebrations.
