Goodbye Winter! High Temperatures in Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, and Several Areas
Several regions in India are experiencing rising temperatures, with Delhi recording a high of 28°C and Mumbai reaching 35°C, indicating an early onset of summer.
India is beginning to feel the heat, with temperatures on the rise in many parts of the country. In Delhi, temperatures are expected to reach up to 28°C, while the western coast is also experiencing increased warmth with places like Mumbai, Ratnagiri, and Goa observing maximum temperatures hovering in the mid-30s. The weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather reports that Mumbai recorded a high of 35°C last week, which is considered unusually early for February. Meanwhile, temperatures on the eastern coast remain relatively lower, showcasing a significant temperature difference between the eastern and western coasts of peninsular India.
The rising heat in the western coast is noticeable, particularly from Kochi to Ratnagiri, where daytime temperatures are frequently exceeding 36°C. Coastal Karnataka is facing even more severe conditions, with towns like Karwar reaching 38°C and Honnavar seeing similar highs. This trend is viewed as one of the early indications of the pre-monsoon season, as fluctuations in temperature begin to signal the arrival of warmer weather across the region.
Additionally, weather reports have indicated upcoming rain in the Delhi-NCR region on February 18 and alerts for Punjab and Haryana on February 17, offering a slight reprieve from the ongoing heat. However, the overall trend seems to suggest an early transition into warmer conditions, which could have implications for agricultural activities and local weather patterns as the country moves closer to the summer months.
