A dog named Neguinho, who was rescued five years ago, was shot in a condominium in Guapó, a region within the metropolitan area of Goiânia, Brazil. The incident occurred on February 5, and the dog's owner, Yeda Guimarães, shared the troubling news on social media, including a video showing Neguinho's injured hind leg alongside images of the bullet and an X-ray taken after the shooting.

Initially, Guimarães thought her dog had suffered an injury from a piece of wire; however, a visit to the veterinarian revealed the shocking truth that he had been shot. The attending veterinarian confirmed that Neguinho sustained a serious injury to his tibia, with part of the bone shattered, indicative of a gunshot wound. As a result, the dog required surgery, including the placement of a plate and four screws to stabilize his leg, underscoring the severity of his injury.
