See which streets will be closed during Orla Folia in Macapá; programming starts Saturday (14)
The city of Macapá has announced street closures in the South Zone for the Orla Folia carnival event from Saturday (14) to Monday (16).
Macapá's city government has laid out plans for street closures as part of the upcoming Orla Folia carnival celebrations, set to take place from Saturday to Monday. Specifically, streets in the South Zone will be shut down from 14:00 to 02:00 to accommodate the festivities. The Companhia de Trânsito e Transporte de Macapá (CTMac) will oversee the traffic management and enforcement during this period.
The affected streets include Rua Beira Rio, Rua André de Oliveira Costa, and several major avenues such as Av. Pastor Rego and Av. Eulálio Costa among others. The closures are anticipated to significantly impact local traffic but are intended to facilitate a vibrant carnival atmosphere featuring national and local attractions. It's expected that this event will enhance the cultural, recreational, and economic landscape of Macapá during the carnival season.
In addition to the street closures, the Orla Folia event will showcase a variety of performances and activities aimed at bringing the community together. This year’s programming includes events like Carnakids and performances by local bands. With a schedule planned to engage families and carnival-goers alike, the event is poised to be a highlight for residents, marking an important time for local culture and community interaction during the festive period.
