Poços launches tool in Waze with traffic interdictions for Carnival
The city of Poços de Caldas has introduced a digital tool in collaboration with Waze to inform drivers about traffic interdictions during Carnival 2026.
The city government of Poços de Caldas has launched an innovative tool in partnership with the navigation application Waze, aimed at informing drivers about road closures and parking restrictions during the Carnival celebrations in 2026. This new feature will display an exclusive Carnival event on Waze, detailing all the relevant traffic disruptions, including specific blockades, timing, and a comprehensive map of affected areas. This is a proactive approach by the local authorities to manage the expected surge in traffic during this busy festive period.
The traffic interdictions are already in effect and will escalate in intensity leading up to and throughout the official Carnival dates from February 13 to February 17, specifically targeting the city's central region, which is expected to see the highest concentration of revelers and events. This initiative is coordinated by the Secretary of Public Safety and Urban Mobility, which underscores the city's commitment to ensuring a smoother flow of traffic and improving public safety during one of the year's busiest times.
Providing complete information regarding the dates, times, types of blockages, and maps of the restricted areas, this tool aims to enhance communication and assist drivers in planning their routes more efficiently. With easy access through Waze, the local government expects that this move will minimize disruptions and make the carnival experience more enjoyable for both visitors and residents alike.
