Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has emphasized the significance of military-technical cooperation and counterterrorism efforts with countries in Africa’s Sahel region, particularly during talks with Burkina Faso’s foreign minister, Karamoko Jean-Marie Traore, held in Moscow. Lavrov noted that the bilateral interactions have been exemplary and are vital as both nations work together to combat regional terrorism. He underscored the collaboration forming within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), which seeks collective security measures against insurgency.
