MP: A School's Mistake Locks Out 23 Dreams, 12th Graders Unable to Sit for First Board Exam
A serious oversight by a private school in Madhya Pradesh prevented 23 students from appearing for their first board exam.
In Madhya Pradesh's Khargone district, a significant negligence by the management of Shri Gayatri Vidyapeeth Higher Secondary School in Bhikangao has been highlighted. The school collected examination forms for both 10th and 12th grade students, but failed to submit the exam fees to the Madhya Pradesh Board on time. As a result, 23 students, including 10 from the 12th grade, were unable to take their first English examination. The students were informed about this grave mistake only a day before the exam, leaving them distraught and anxious about their future.
Students like Piyush Dilavare, who is preparing for the JEE, expressed concern that missing this exam could jeopardize their entire academic year. Similarly, Uzma Khan, who is preparing for the NEET examination, shared the emotional toll of not being able to sit for the exam after a year of hard work. This incident raises serious questions about the accountability of school management and the mechanisms in place to ensure the timely submission of fees, which are critical for students' examination eligibility.
Upon learning about the issue, hundreds of parents gathered outside the school to protest, even blocking a highway to voice their grievances. They claimed to have made the fee payments on time, only to see their children barred from taking the exams due to the school's oversight. The incident highlights the broader implications of administrative failures in educational institutions, potentially affecting students' futures and the trust parents place in these schools.
