WATCH LIVE | Four Estonian Skiers Start at the Winter Olympics
Four Estonian cross-country skiers will compete in the women's 10 km freestyle race at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.
The Milan-Cortina Winter Games continue with the women's 10 km freestyle race in cross-country skiing, featuring four Estonian athletes: Keidy Kaasiku, Kaidy Kaasiku, Teesi Tuul, and Mariel Merlii Pulles. The race will have a total of 111 competitors, and it will be broadcast live on ETV and the ERR sports portal starting at 13:50 local time, with commentary provided by Tarmo Tiisler and Vahur Leemets, and reporting by Johannes Vedru.
This event follows the previous Winter Olympics in Beijing where the 10 km distance was run in classic technique, resulting in a gold medal for Norwegian athlete Therese Johaug, with Finnish skiers Kerttu Niskanen and Krista Pärmäkoski winning silver and bronze respectively. Although Johaug has retired from professional skiing, the Finnish skiers remain competitive and will participate in the upcoming race.
With the participation of these Estonian skiers, the event not only highlights their potential to showcase their skills on an international platform but also emphasizes Estonia's commitment to supporting winter sports, encouraging young athletes to aspire towards competing at the highest levels like the Olympics.
