Boat, Water, Sky, and Kārlis Bardelis. A new documentary film created in memory of the traveler
A new documentary titled 'With Love from the Ocean' chronicles the adventurous journey of Latvian traveler Kārlis Bardelis, who has achieved remarkable feats while traveling across the world.
The documentary 'With Love from the Ocean' showcases the incredible journey of Latvian traveler Kārlis Bardelis, who became the first person to cross the Pacific Ocean solo in a rowing boat without a motor, sails, or accompanying ship. Over the years, Bardelis has accumulated six Guinness World Records, positioning him as a unique figure in adventure travel. His latest film highlights not just his achievements but the beauty of the path he chose, filled with vast oceans and skies.
In 2021, against the backdrop of pandemic restrictions, Bardelis discovered new ways to continue his travels. After successfully crossing the Pacific, he ventured across the Indian Ocean and later embarked on a biking journey that spanned over 5,000 kilometers across Africa. His epic journey concludes on April 4, 2024, at the same jetty in Lüderitz, Namibia, where he originally set off in 2016. The film captures the essence of Bardelis's exploration and emphasizes the connection between nature and the spirit of adventure.
The film is produced and directed by Liga Skrode, who highlights that this documentary focuses entirely on Bardelis's experiences and insights. It serves both as a tribute to his adventurous spirit and as an inspiration for future generations of travelers, illustrating that determination and love for exploration can lead to extraordinary achievements even in the face of challenges like a global pandemic.
