A documentary film about Kārļa Bardeļa final journey around the world

A documentary chronicles Latvian traveler Kārlis Bardelis's epic solo journey around the world, culminating in his record-setting adventures across oceans and continents.

Kārlis Bardelis, a Latvian traveler, made history as the first person to row solo across the Pacific Ocean without a motor, sails, or escort ship. Throughout his six active years of exploration, he has set six Guinness World Records and established the project "Bored of Borders" to encourage boundary-less travel. His voice is a central element of the documentary, highlighting his surroundings and experiences during his remarkable journey.

The documentary titled "With Love from the Ocean" captures the final segment of Bardelis's journey around the world, which he pursued in 2021 despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. Following his historic Pacific crossing, Bardelis continued his quest by traversing the Indian Ocean, and later cycled over 5,000 kilometers across Africa, demonstrating incredible resilience and dedication to his adventures.

Bardelis's journey concluded on April 4, 2024, at the same pier in Lüderitz, Namibia, where it had originally begun in 2016. Producer and director Līga Skrode emphasized the documentary's focus on the essence of Bardelis's journey, showcasing not only the physical challenges he faced but also the emotional depth of solo exploration and the spirit of adventure that drives such feats.
