Two collaborators of the Morena State Committee in Guerrero die in a car accident
Two members of Mexico's Morena State Committee died in a car accident while on a work mission in Guerrero.
Two members of the Morena State Executive Committee (CEE) lost their lives in a car accident near Zoquiapa, Chilapa, while en route to carry out a work commission. The incident was confirmed by CEE president Jacinto González Varona, who received the news through a phone call on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as Alfredo, an assistant in the IT sector, and Roselio, the personal secretary for several years, were on their way from Chilpancingo to Chilapa to engage in party work across several nearby communities.
The last communication with the two individuals occurred at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, and it was expected that they would return to an area with phone coverage by 6:00 PM. Unfortunately, this did not happen, leading to growing concerns. González mentioned that he had engaged in various work meetings and completed his workday late on Tuesday without hearing back from them, prompting uncertainty about their whereabouts.
The tragic incident raises concerns about road safety in the region and the risks faced by political workers in carrying out their duties. As the local community mourns the loss, there may be calls for improved road safety measures and support for political members operating in potentially dangerous areas. This unfortunate event exemplifies the challenges faced by public servants in Mexico and highlights the need for greater attention to their well-being and safety while performing their responsibilities.
