Freestyle Skiing Women's Mogul Yoon Shin-i, 24th in Qualifiers… Fails to Advance to Finals
South Korean freestyle skier Yoon Shin-i finished 24th in the qualifiers for the women's mogul event at the 2026 Winter Olympics and did not advance to the finals.
Yoon Shin-i, a 19-year-old South Korean freestyle skier, faced disappointment at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, failing to advance to the finals of the women's mogul event. Competing at the Aerial Mogul Park in Livigno, Italy, she scored 64.46 points and placed 13th in the second heat of the qualifiers, which was not enough to secure a spot in the finals. The competition format allowed for ten direct advances from the first heat and further qualifications through the second heat, but Yoon's efforts fell short.
In the first heat of the qualifiers, Yoon scored 59.40 points, which placed her 21st among the competitors. Following her second heat performance, it was clear that she would not be progressing further, culminating in an overall placement of 24th. Mogul skiing is a challenging sport that requires skiers to navigate a bumpy terrain filled with bumps known as moguls and perform aerial tricks from jump ramps, showcasing both speed and technical skill. Yoon's scores highlight the stiff competition she faced.
Looking ahead, Yoon is set to compete in the dual mogul event on the 14th, where two skiers race head-to-head down the course. This upcoming event presents her with another opportunity to showcase her talents and potentially redeem her previous performance as she continues her journey on the international skiing stage.
