In a shocking revelation in the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, the police have uncovered that the murder of Shivshankar Dubey, which took place on February 3, was committed not by an external attacker but by his younger brother, Ajay Shankar Dubey. Initially, the family accused five relatives of being involved in the murder due to a property dispute; however, police investigations proved them innocent. Ajay was subsequently arrested, with police officials stating that he had committed the crime out of frustration and desperation over financial matters concerning his UPSC preparations.

According to Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal, Ajay Shankar Dubey had been preparing for the UPSC exams with hopes of becoming a high-ranking official. He was an exemplary student, scoring 76% in high school, 68% in intermediate, and 77% in his degree. While studying at a coaching center in Delhi, he was financially dependent on his elder brother, Shivshankar. Tensions escalated when Ajay requested one lakh rupees for admission into another coaching institute, a request his brother rejected, insisting he return to help with farming on the family land.

The argument over the refusal of financial support ultimately led to a tragic outcome, showcasing the intense pressure and circumstances that pressure many students in India.
