With energized ground, posts, and signs, one of Porto Alegre's most important avenues is blocked for drivers and pedestrians
A section of Avenida Ipiranga in Porto Alegre is closed due to suspected energy leakage from high-voltage lines, impacting both vehicles and pedestrians.
A serious incident involving suspected energy leakage from high-voltage lines has led to the complete closure of a portion of Avenida Ipiranga in Porto Alegre. The closure affects the area between Avenida Getúlio Vargas and Érico Veríssimo in the direction towards the city center. Authorities from the Empresa Pública de Transporte e Circulação (EPTC), along with the Civil Defense and CEEE Equatorial, mobilized to manage the situation during the morning. Given the potential risk of electric shock, EPTC agents are advising pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers to steer clear of the area, especially since it is a popular spot for exercise enthusiasts with its bike paths.
