Stone pelting on Vande Bharat Express, window shattered, passengers narrowly escape

An incident of stone pelting occurred on the Vande Bharat Express in Muzaffarpur, resulting in a shattered window, but no passengers were injured.

In Muzaffarpur, near the Ramdayalu Nagar station, unknown assailants threw stones at the Vande Bharat Express traveling from Gorakhpur to Patna. The incident transpired as the train was approaching Hajipur, when a large stone struck the window near seats 28 and 29 in the C-7 coach, resulting in the glass shattering with a loud noise. Fortunately, no passengers were reported injured, but the situation created chaos momentarily among those on board.

Following the attack, RPF ASI Shivji, who was part of the security team, alerted the Hajipur RPF post about the incident. Based on his report, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against unknown perpetrators under Section 153 of the Railways Act. The responsibility to investigate the case has been assigned to Inspector Vipin Kumar, who will review CCTV footage from the train and gather input from the surrounding area to identify the attackers.

Despite the train's high speed making it difficult to pinpoint the stone throwers, the authorities are determined to investigate thoroughly. As of late evening, there were no leads on the identity of the assailants, leaving the case open and raising concerns about passenger safety on trains, particularly regarding attacks that disrupt public transport.
