A 31-year-old Greek man has been arrested at Athens International Airport, known as 'Eleftherios Venizelos', for his involvement in an international criminal organization that has been trafficking cannabis into Greece. This operation was led by the Greek police's Narcotics Division as part of targeted efforts to prevent the importation of illegal drugs into the country. The arrest occurred during a routine check where the suspect was identified upon his arrival from abroad.

During a search of the suspect's luggage, authorities discovered 8.2 kilograms of processed cannabis disguised as a chocolate product, which was intended for further distribution within the Greek territory. In addition to the drugs, a mobile phone was also confiscated, which may provide further leads in the ongoing investigation into the narcotics operation.

The arrested individual is now being processed and will be taken to the appropriate judicial authority.
