The Muriçocas do Miramar block, a traditional pre-Carnival event in João Pessoa, Brazil, is set to take place on 'Quarta-feira de Fogo' (Fire Wednesday), featuring renowned artist Alceu Valença as the main attraction. This celebration is particularly significant as the block commemorates its 40th anniversary and pays tribute to the respected local artist Zé Katimba. The festivities will commence with concentrations at the popular Praça das Muriçocas at 20:00, followed by a parade with folk cultural groups and performances starting at 20:30.
The evening promises a vibrant atmosphere, highlighted by the participation of various artists including Fuba, Juzé, Capilé, Axé do Yuri, Beleza Pura, and Myra Maya, in addition to Valença’s performance. The main parade of the Muriçocas do Miramar will officially start down Avenida Epitácio Pessoa at 22:00, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region through music, dance, and traditional rituals.
