New leadership at Repsol Mexico

Repsol has appointed Jesús Chillón as the new country manager in Mexico to enhance its operations and strategic development in the country.

Repsol has appointed Jesús Chillón as its new country manager in Mexico, announced by José Barreiro Pérez-Pardo, the Executive Director of Mobility. This change comes as part of the global energy company's strategy to strengthen its presence in the Mexican market after 25 years of active involvement in the energy value chain, which includes exploration, production, and fuel commercialization. Chillón's extensive 30-year career at Repsol highlights his qualifications for this leadership role.

Previously, Chillón held positions such as the head of business units in Colombia and Trinidad and Tobago and has significant international experience in operational leadership in Vietnam, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. Furthermore, he has managed renewable projects across Spain, Chile, and the United States, significantly contributing to a combined capacity of over 6 GW from both installed assets and ongoing projects. His diverse portfolio showcases his capabilities in navigating the dynamic landscape of the energy sector.

Chillón's appointment is particularly crucial as Repsol seeks to adapt and enhance its strategies to the increasingly competitive energy market in Mexico. As the country enhances its energy landscape, focusing on sustainability and renewable sources, Chillón is expected to leverage his expertise to spearhead growth initiatives and align Repsol's goals with the evolving demands of the industry, ensuring the company remains a leader in the Mexican energy market.
